LAZADA’s Big Effortless Shopping Sale Across Southeast Asia + Tips on Online Shopping!

Hey, guys! Just wanna share with y’all good news– Lazada’s on an effortless shopping campaign today til this Sunday!!

Lazada, Southeast Asia’s leading online shopping and selling destination, kicks off its Effortless Shopping campaign  in the Philippines from 21-26 July highlighting the benefits of effortless online shopping to Filipino consumers.

“We are committed to providing an effortless online shopping experience to approximately 550 million consumers in the Southeast Asian region. While our customer satisfaction survey reveals that respondents are satisfied with their online shopping experience, there is an untapped opportunity to reach out to non-online shoppers by highlighting the benefits of online shopping and thus changing their perceptions,” said Inanc Balci, CEO of Lazada Philippines.

As an eCommerce leader in the Philippines, Lazada provides consumers with an effortless shopping experience with its user-friendly sites and mobile apps accessible at their fingertips anytime, any day. It offers a wide selection of international, local and exclusive products; and multiple secure payment options including cash-on-delivery.

Consumers can shop with peace of mind on Lazada as all items purchased are covered by Lazada’s Buyer Protection Program. This provides a guarantee that products are genuine, new and not defective; and for customers to return the items within seven days for a full refund, otherwise. Consumers can also shop with assurance knowing that they can reach out to Lazada’s customer service seven days a week by phone and email.

The Effortless Shopping Sale

Consumers can experience the benefits of online shopping during The Effortless Shopping Sale on Lazada Philippines from July 21 to 26.

Here are some tips on online shopping!

Lazada also curated online shopping tips on topics such as secure shopping, smart savings and category specific advice for parents, tech enthusiasts and fashionistas. These tips from Lazada’s own experts are designed to help consumers become savvier and more confident online shoppers.

Secure Shopping

  • For mobile shopping, choose shopping sites with an app. It’s easier to use and most importantly, more secure as it’s harder to tamper with.
  • Check news articles about the shopping site to ensure it’s not a temporary online shop that will disappear after pocketing your money.
  • Ensure the shopping site has a return policy such as Lazada’s Buyer Protection: online shops without return policies can mean scam or unauthentic products.
  • Do not give your password to anyone. Online shops’ email support or call support personnel should never require your password for identification.
  • Only use your credit or debit card on sites with a padlock icon in the URL bar. This means the site uses secure communications to prevent any third-party eavesdropping.
  • Choose a reputable and secure payment method such as helloPay (note: only for SG & PH) to further secure your payment details.
  • Check for security labels such as PCI-DSS certification. This means the shop has been audited and is certified safe to use.
  • If you don’t receive an acknowledgement email from the online shop shortly after a purchase, there might be an issue with your purchase or it might be a scam. Call the site’s hotline to verify.
  • If you strongly suspect you have been scammed and your credit card information has been stolen, contact your bank or credit card issuer to block the card and investigate.

Savvy Fashionistas

  • Pick the right size by using the size chart feature, taking your measurements and checking carefully for any international conversions (UK, US, EU, Japan).
  • Ensure the site has an exchange policy like Lazada’s 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed policy that enables you to return clothes within 7 days, and re-order the outfit in a size that fits you perfectly.
  • Only shop for fashion on websites that provide a few angles so you can see exactly how the clothes fit on the model or mannequin.
  • Get your friends’ comments or ‘likes’ easily by sharing the item on Facebook or Instagram before buying.
  • Busy fashionistas can shop on-the-go with Lazada’s mobile apps.
  • Read product details to check on the fabrication so you’ll know how the clothes feel on you.

Parenting Shoppers

  • Spend quality time with your family instead of getting caught in traffic to the shopping mall. Online shopping lets you shop at your convenience, any time of the day!
  • Diapers and milk powder are not only expensive, but heavy to carry. Look out for online promotions and take advantage of door-step delivery.
  • Follow the Lazada Super Moms Facebook page and subscribe to the newsletters to get the latest deals delivered straight to you.
  • Busy parents can save precious time by shopping on the Lazada mobile apps.
  • Don’t let getting overwhelmed in crowded malls and toy stores stop you from giving the best to your kids. Shop for educational toys online, conveniently.
  • If you’ve brought the wrong size of maternity clothes, take advantage of Lazada’s  100% Satisfaction Guaranteed policy. Return the wrong size within 14 days (30 for Vietnam), and re-order the outfit in the right size.

Tech Addicts

  • Online shopping allows you to compare prices for your favourite gadget. Do keep a look out for sellers on the same site that may offer a bigger discount or bundle deal.
  • Searching for phone accessories, power banks and covers is less overwhelming online as you can easily compare your options and colors, and sort them by price.
  • Subscribe to Lazada’s newsletter or like our Facebook page to get news on exclusive and limited edition tech launches.
  • When looking for a gadget in a specific model or colour, check out Lazada’s wide range online first. It’s better than visiting the retail store and discovering the gadget’s sold out.
  • Shopping for your favourite gadget online is easy. You can do it anytime of the day with fast and reliable delivery to your home or office.

Smart Savers

  • Take advantage of free shipping if you spend a certain amount, or do a group order with friends so you can all enjoy free shipping.
  • Download the Lazada mobile application to enjoy special app-only discounts and access sales anywhere, anytime! Turn on push notifications on mobile to stay updated on the latest promotions.
  • Watch out for time-sensitive flash deals, set your alarm so you don’t miss the promotion!
  • Look out for exciting promotions from our bank partner with store-wide discounts
  • Sign up for newsletters for sale promotions and coupon codes.

Noriter: A Cozy Cafe in Taft, Manila

Most students in Taft have, at least once in their lives, gone to Noriter– the famous Korean Cafe located in front of the De La Salle University. Known for its cozy, artsy, and Instagram-worthy ambiance, people go to this cafe to study and to chill.
The cafe serves coffees, desserts, and even meals. I must admit that the food and coffee aren’t much (taste and quality wise, they’re just so-so), and that the price range is a little too much for students (it ranges from 100 pesos to 165 pesos), but it’s a really nice place to go to if you just want to take good pictures or if you’re looking for a quiet place to study or to chill at.

The whole place is filled with vandalisms– which is pretty cool. You have the freedom to leave your mark on anything, anywhere.

The place is so artsy, too! Everything’s in line with the theme, even down to the last detail.

The room is very spacious. They have long tables and even two-level bunks.
I was with my blockmates (aka study group..yehess!!) , JR and Mona, when I first visited Noriter. We started on our papers and studied for our exam over coffee and pasta.

Their coffee was very milky and sweet. Mona didn’t like it, but I loved it. (Pambata talaga panlasa ko, guys. HAHA.)

I had carbonara for PHP 160. It’s a little expensive but I thought it was pretty darn good!! It was meaty and creamy.

Lovin’ the tiny decorations!!

Cute water dispenser!

Do I recommend this place?
If you’re someone who loves to take pictures, I’d definitely recommend Noriter! You’re sure to have a great time with your friends here. 🙂

REVIEW

Here’s a swatch of the product. I had mine in 04 Honey.
They have other shades too like 02 Nude Beige and 03 Natural.
NO FOUNDATION ON
I do not have ANY make-up on in this picture (if you’re asking, my eyelashes were permed four days ago at Browhaus Manila ).
As you can notice, I do not have perfect skin, evidently shown by the blemishes and pimple marks on my face.

WITH FOUNDATION ON:
I like how natural the foundation looks like on my face; it barely seems like I put on any make-up at all, except that my skin seems three times clearer now (lol). The foundation doesn’t feel “heavy on the face”, either.

I now use this foundation to work every day. It gives off just the right amount of coverage, and at the same time, it looks very natural, too– perfect for students like us! 🙂

I’m a proud Maybelline Baby! 🙂

Baby Lips x Lipstick by Maybelline

Final Verdict:
Packaging: 4/5
Quality: 4/5
Price: 5/5
And as for the #StepUpChallenge, I just want to thank Maybelline Philippines for reminding us girls that we could do anything, as long as we put our hearts and minds into it.
I’m very happy to say that I have been learning so much from my experience as a marketing intern. I’m already on Week 2 of my internship, and, though there have been tough times, I’m enjoying a lot! Can’t help but just be thankful to God for putting me here.
What about you, girls? How do you plan to step up this school year? Let me know through the comment box below! 😛

Fat Grill: A Must Try Hole-In-The-Wall Restaurant in LIPA, BATANGAS

Hey, guys!
My family and I spent Father’s Day this year at Batangas to watch the premier screening of my sister’s indie film, “Ligaw”. Before heading to the big screen, we first attended church service at Victory Christian Fellowship, and then went out to eat lunch with our local friends.
When we said we wanted to try something unique to the city, they took us to one of the best hole-in-the-wall restaurants in Lipa City, Batangas–
FAT GRILL !

Fat Grill is a small restaurant located right beside Caltex gasoline station and De La Salle Lipa. They serve delicious food for very affordable prices!
I wanted to try the Wild Wild West (PHP 85, slow cooked and tender country style bbq pork), but they ran out of it, so I had the Chow that Chicken (PHP 75, boneless teriyaki chicken thigh) instead.  My folks also tried the KKK (Krispy Kare-Kare), Tofu Hustle (Tokwa’t Baboy), Aladdin’s Treasure (kebab), Fire Me Up (squid), and the Catch of the Day (fish)
The food arrived within 10 minutes. We give Fat Grill an A+ for their presentation!

My yummy chicken teriyaki!! Can’t believe this was just priced at PHP 75!! Talk about sulit and affordable!!
The food was great.  I mean, hello, GOOD FOOD for JUST 75 PESOS?? #WIN
I enjoyed my Chow that Chicken order so much, I can’t wait to come back and try their Wild Wild West!

Fire Me Up (squid) – top
Chow that Chicken- bottom

I don’t know if it’s just because it was Father’s Day, but the restaurant was so crowded– given that the place was so small pa!
They had a limited number of tables inside the place; they had two or three outside the restaurant, tho. But aside from that, we enjoyed our stay in the restaurant, and would definitely go back! 🙂

Thank you for the good food, Fat Grill!

Like FAT GRILL on Facebook!

Hershey!

LAZADA SHOP TIL YOU BLOG: Blogging Tips from Top Blogger Kryz Uy

Hey, guys!

How have y’all been enjoying the coziness of today’s cuddle weather? Hope everyone’s safe and dry!

——-

Last June, Lazada Philippines invited us to a fun and intimate event entitled “SHOP TIL YOU BLOG”. Esteemed speakers, including top Filipina fashion blogger Kryz Uy, were there to inspire bloggers to keep on doing what they love.

In a time where anyone could call himself/herself to be a blogger, it’s easy for people to underestimate the industry. Thankfully, Kryz Uy, who never fails to inspire me with her passion for the craft, reminded us to keep on doing and working hard for what we love. After all, we blog to share ideas, and not for its perks.
The last time I heard Kryz give a talk was last March when my sorority invited her for “Ambassadress of Beauty”. 3 months later, she’s still as amazing and as humble!

Anyway, back to the talk.

Here were a couple of tips that we learned from her that day:

1. Post on searchable content
2. Find a need and fill it
3. Do something new and own it
4. Be relevant. Be current.
5. Use hashtags and geo tags.
5. Be yourself cause no one can do that better than you

For more, visit her blog at www.kryzuy.com.

Kryz Uy also gave us tips on how to make our Instagram feeds look nicer! For inspiration, you may follow her at @kryzzzie on IG.

To make sure that we learned from her #flatlay tips,  we had a quick contest, too. The bloggers in the house were encouraged to take a flatlay of the freebies they got that day. Here was my entry:

Thank you for these cool giveaways, LAZADA PH! Your sponsors are awesome. Lol.
Here was my favorite takeaway from Kryz Uy’s talk.
“If you are real, genuine, and unapologetically yourself, the right people will respect you. And the wrong people— well, they’re irrelevant.”
Keep on doing you! As long as you’re not stepping over somebody else, you’re on the right track. 🙂
Thanks for the talk, Kryz! Can’t wait to hear more from you soon!

Here are some other photos I took that day

With my IG friend, Chesca De Mesa!

Buffet by Discovery Primea Hotel, Makati City

With my former high school buddy, now famous Instagrammer and blogger, Bea Marin

With tablemates, Patty Villegas and Tonette Nicolas! 🙂
I’ll be ending this post with a bag I bought from Lazada a few weeks ago 🙂 Can’t believe I was able to get this original Mango saffiano satchel for only 55 pesos (its original price was 3,999). Talk about super sale!! Shop now over at www.lazada.com.ph.
Again, thank you for having us LAZADA PHILIPPINES. Thank you for taking well care of us, I am so proud to be a Lazada affiliate! More power to you!

The Teenage Queen is now Hey, Hershey!

{The blog}
Hey, Hershey! is a blog on life and growing up. It also talks about fashion, lifestyle, food, campus life, and #girlpower.
{The blogger}
Hershey Neri is 19 years old and currently resides in Quezon City, Philippines.
Before realizing her purpose in life, she took up Nursing for one year at the University of the Philippines Manila. After a series of life-changing events, she discovered her passion for writing, events organizing, and public relations. In 2013, she shifted to BA Organizational Communication in the same university. She enjoys learning new things everyday— both inside and outside the four walls of the classroom.
She is a fashionista, a chatterbox, a college student, a sorority girl, and a big bubble of fun. She is a lover of sunflowers, vanilla milkshakes, and fuzzy dogs. Pink is her spirit color, and she dreams of one day inspiring young women all over the world.
She started blogging ever since she was 11 years old. Her first blog was on Multiply, which she then transferred to Tumblr, and eventually to Blogger.
On October 26, 2011, she launched the blog “The Diary of a Teenage Queen”. The blog was an outlet to share her musings on teenage life and whatnot.

In 2015 however, Hershey realized that she will be turning 20 anytime soon— and alas, she has outgrown her Teen Queen phase. She decided to give the blog a deeper purpose, and so on July 4, 2015, Hey, Hershey! was born— a blog dedicated to connect with, inspire, and empower the youth.
