Browhaus and Strip’s Victorian-Themed Branch at the SM Megamall Fashion Hall!

As you all know, Browhaus seeks to bring us to a different destination each time we visit a particular branch. The Serendra branch is a room full of eyebrows; the Greenbelt branch is one big submarine; the Davao branch is a shooting range; the Lucky Chinatown, a camp site. The theme of their newest branch in SM Megamall Fashion Hall? Victorian!

Last September 18, we were privileged to have witnessed the grand opening of Browhaus Manila + Strip Ministry of Waxing’s newest branch in SM Megamall Fashion Hall at the 5th floor.

With fellow bloggers, Alyssa of and Jirbie of | Photo grabbed from Jirbie

I’m a total sucker for themed-parties, and I just wasn’t able to contain my happiness and excitement when I found out that the theme for the night’s event was CARNIVAL!
Upon arriving at the party, we were directed to a table where we could choose one necklace from. HAY NAKO, I was so pressured!! HAHAHAHA. People were looking and waiting for me to pick just one, and I was this close to blurting out, “Hindi ko alam gusto ko! Hindi ko talaga alam!” =)) #drama #hugot
I ended up picking the color lime tho. hehe.
Check out the uber cute desserts booth!
They had popcorn, creme brulee, cream puffs, tiramisu, cookies, etc.
The food was amazing, too! My friends and I were able to finish –please don’t judge– 3 servings of pasta! LOL!!!
Wanna take a sneak-peek of how the rooms look like?
Yeah? I thought so.
Just to brief you real quick, the Browhaus + Strip branch in Megamall is actually one big place.
The left side is where Browhaus is at, while Strip is located at the right side.
The Cashier
Don’t you just love the enchanting feel of the colors? The place actually reminds me of mermaids, for some reason. Hehe.

The prints of the walls are so pretty!!!
I love the tint of the mirrors located along the hallway! My reflection looks as if it had been filtered by Instagram!
Love how they put attention to details.
The waiting area is so cute. Ugh.
Okay, now back to the event!
The grand opening was hosted by none other than Ms. Tessa Prieto πŸ™‚
Ms. Tab of Browhaus Manila giving a short message on how Browhaus and Strip in the Philippines all started.

With Jirbie, Ms. Monique of Browhaus Manila, and Alyssa πŸ™‚
Than you so much for having us, Ms. Monique! We had such a great time. More power to Browhaus!! <3

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to finish the party because I had to go home to study for an exam the next morning #studentbloggerproblemz. But I heard there were can-can performers as well as jugglers and other circus performers. So cool!! Just some of the ribbon cutters that night were Andi Manzano, Vanessa Matsunaga, and JM Rodriguez. You may check out Instagram for more photos of the event! #StripMegaFashionHall #BrowhausMegaFashionHall
So happy I got to bring home one of these. Thanks, Strip and Browhaus for this really cool PR kit! Hehe. So cute!!
Ending this post with a selfie with Strip’s very own waxing virgin, Jenny!!

Speaking of, I’m going to visit Strip really soon to have my very first Brazilian. I’m nervous yet really excited for this! A lot (and I mean, A LOT) of people- both men and women- have been telling me that once you experience the Strip treatment, you won’t want to have it done anywhere else. Thanks again for this opportunity, Strip! πŸ™‚
Congratulations on your newest branch, Browhaus and Strip!
I’ve always been a regular customer of yours and I’m just so honored to have witnessed this milestone. More power!

Une Angelique

The past seven days have been anything but stressful. Because of the storm, we had three school days off this week, which was pretty cool since we really had to get some much-needed sleep (it was our hellweek the week before). Just chilling in my bed and munching on almond-sprinkled doughnuts was my way to spend the weekend, and I couldn’t be any more thankful for this opportunity to finally relax and get some rest (huhuhu UP hell week plz).
So right now,  while we’re not yet drowning in school work, lemme try to squeeze in a quick blog post for you all!! πŸ™‚

BROWHAUS’ Newest Products: the HD Mascara and the Precision Eyeliner!

Browhaus–your one-stop brow and lash grooming salon, built for the image-conscious urbanite who demands not just function, but function and style– has recently launched the newest additions to their make-up line: the Precision Eyeliner for #PreciseTips and the HD Mascara for #FullLashes.
We were invited to their bloggers event last August 27 which was held at
The Hungry Hound / Niner Ichi Nana at The Fort.

The Hungry Hound is a freestyle gastropub rooted in European technique and mixes in
different flavours from around the world. Their chefs add character to the classics by
introducing items on the menu with Asian and even Filipino influences like sweet chili,
kimchi, and even bacon-silog.
Niner Ichi Nana is a place of expression. Like cocktail bars from eras passed, it is a location
where different people get together to discuss the world over some well prepared and properly
proportioned drinks. Niner Ichi Nana is an ode to Craft Cocktail Bars, seeing bartending as an art without any boundaries, filled with multi faceted flavours and helmed by artisans.

The food was excellent. I wasn’t able to take more food shots, though, cause I was too focused on their perfectly grilled cheese sandwich. Hehe. But do drop by The Hungry Hound/ Niner Ichi Nana when you happen to be at the Fort area! πŸ™‚ I’m sure you’ll enjoy it there as much as we did.
The Erwan Heussaff himself mixed our drinks. Awesome! (Photo grabbed from Ms. Monique Jamlang’s IG)

1. HD Mascara (998 pesos)
The HD Mascara works wonders. What I love most about it is that it’s water-proof, so it doesn’t smudge easily and end up making me look like I have a black-eye.  If you’re a mascara type of person like me, and you just hate it when your mascara builds up at the end of your tips, then you’ll be happy with this product. Yes, it’s totally, totally clump-free!
It also locks up your curls for 24 hours. There was this one night when I forgot to use make-up remover on my lashes (bad move!! remember to always remove make-up before going to sleep lol!!). Interestingly, I washed my face, took a bath, and rushed to school the next day without even putting make-up on, but the Clump-Free HD Mascara was still at work! My lashes were still curled, which was pretty cool.

2. Precision Eyeliner (750 pesos)

Don’t you just love Browhaus’ witty posters?
With Browhaus’ Precision Eyeliner, your can create tips ranging from Thin to Bold to Amy Winehouse!
If you find it really hard to use liquid eyeliner, then you’ll fall in love with Browhaus’ Precision Eyeliner. It’s shaped just like a real pen, so it’s SUPER easy to hold and apply. I mean it! Putting on eyeliner has never been easier!
The Precision Eyeliner comes in two (2) colors:
Intense Black and Deep Brown
Top: Mascara, Middle: Black eyeliner, Bottom: Brown Eyeliner
Because of Browhaus, I just recently discovered the wonders of brown eyeliner! If you’re going for a more natural look, you must definitely try brown eyeliner <3
Deep Brown Precision Eyeliner for a natural day look

Intense Black Precision Eyeliner for night outs and a glam look

More photos from the bloggers event!

Love love love the Japanese feel off the event! And yay for mochi!!!

In line with Browhaus being all into precision and perfection and all that, someone from ORIGAMI PILIPINAS gave us a mini workshop on how to make our own paper cranes!! It was my first time trying this, and it required a lot of patience and an eye for precision!!! LOL.

My crane was such a failure HAHA. When the instructor asked us to “make our cranes flap”, mine’s wing got ripped off and it fell . πŸ™ </3

A prize awaited the person who could create the most precise crane. Congrats to Zia for winning!! Hehe

Our table was so bibbo and competitive! HAHAHA!

My Azta Ombre Makeover: GIVEAWAY ALERT!

“Ano na naman ginawa sa buhok mo?”, said my friend when she saw my #AztaStyleSessions post on Instagram. Just recently, a portion of my hair had been dyed red at Azta Urban Salon (see here: CLICK ), and 6 weeks later, I went to Azta (AGAIN) to get the ombre I’ve always wanted. (I swear, this hair coloring and styling thing is getting addicting, and I’m so glad I have a trusted go-to salon to leave all the makeover work to.)
Anyway, two weeks ago,  Ms. Meg of Azta Urban Salon sent us an invite to an exclusive ombre makeover style session. (Again, thank you so much for this experience, Ms. Meg!) Upon receiving it  After crazy-dancing out of happiness and excitement, I already knew that this was the “sign” I was waiting for (lol, ang drama!!! kainis!!!!!!!) I’ve always, always, ALWAYS wanted an ombre ever since it was a hit back in 2012. But, because you can never have both *sigh*, I had to choose between just perming or bleaching my hair, so I went for perming first. (Remember my perming experience care of, duh, Azta Urban Salon? View post HERE). But a year and 4 months have already passed, and it was time to do something new to my hair again. At first, I was scared to bleach my hair, but after consulting with Azta, I was like, “WHY NOT?? I’M IN GOOD HANDS, ANYWAY!”
September 10, 2014
We went to SM Jazz Makati, Azta Urban Salon’s NEWEST branch, for our #AztaStyleSession. It was my first time to go to SM Jazz, and all I can say is that it’s a great place to chill at because their interiors are so modern and chic. Azta’s newly opened branch there was so nice as well!
Inside Azta Urban Salon at SM Jazz Makati

First things first: selfies! lol.
With Ms. Meg of Azta Urban Salon
With my blogger crush, Ava Te of !
With my favorite blogger to be with at events (awwww <3), the makeup expert Jirbie of !
We were greeted with cupcakes and Azta’s signature milktea, a personal favorite of mine!
As you could see, my hair had uneven color. Some parts were black, and other parts were dark brown- this was because I dyed my own hair last November. After that, I realized I didn’t have coloring skills at ALL lol, so I never dyed my hair by myself again :))
Now on to the makeover.
Sir Jo is my all-time favorite hair stylist (he’s from  the Azta Eastwood branch), and I just wasn’t able to contain my happiness when he went all the way to Makati  be my stylist for our style session. YAY! <3 Azta, you rock!
First, they blow dried my permed hair straight so Sir Jo can see my hair better.
After that, it was bleaching time!!!!
BALAYAGE OMBRE (aka “Bombre”)
What they did to my hair was a balayage ombre, a combination of ombre and Balayage painting- a relatively new freestyle highlighting technique. It creates a soft, sun-kissed, natural looking post-summer look, which was what I was really aiming for. What I love most about this style is that it creates just a subtle gradation of color, with added sweeps of depth and dimension for a very wearable look.
No foils were used during the bleaching process, because Balayage is a freestyle technique. AND BECAUSE OF THIS, NO TWO BALAYAGE STYLES ARE EXACTLY THE SAME. Cool, huh?
Freehand technique
We let the bleach work for an hour, which allowed me to sit back, relax, and continue with my reading assignments for school (lol buhay estudyante).
Tada! Bleached hair!! <3
(This photo was taken after they put cellophane treatment)
Next, they refreshed my roots and helped even out my hair color. πŸ™‚
Then, they blow dried my hair wavy, since balayage is perfect for wavy/curly hair. The last photo in this collage shows the final result of my balayage makeover πŸ™‚
For us to finish early, 3 stylists teamed up to blow dry my super thick hair πŸ™ =)))
In fairness, feeling celebrity ang peg!!!

A visit to Azta is never complete without a photo op with THE Sir Jo <3
Obligatory group photo op! Super duper thank you to the whole Azta Urban Salon team. We are all super happy with our new hair <3
For those wondering how my hair looks like in day light, here’s a photo of me with my sorority sister, Kyle ,taken at school  πŸ™‚
Bleached hair isn’t that bad, after all! I thought it was gonna turn my hair scary-dry, but nope! My hair seems normal naman, and what I do is mega-condition my hair every day πŸ™‚

Hep-hep! The post doesn’t end here. Our Azta Ombre Experience was AMAZING and we wouldn’t let our reader not experience it!

Uncle Tetsu Philipines: The Hot Asian Cheesecake Craze Is Finally Here!!

Ever heard of Uncle Tetsu’s famous hot cheesecakes? Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore are all going crazy about it (as in, people line up at the store for HOURS just to get hold of their cheesecake fix), and thank goodness this best-selling cheesecake finally arrived here in the Philippines!

I got so excited when my sister and I were invited to visit the country’s first ever Uncle Tetsu branch last month. Its first store is located at the upperground floor annex building of SM Fairview, but we’re all looking forward to more branches around the metro this year. Yipeee!!!
Originating from Japan, Uncle Tetsu takes pride in having perfected the art of making Japanese cheesecake- a balance of flavor and form. Each cake is made from only the freshest eggs and cream cheese, creating a distinctive light, fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth, and preservative-free dessert that’s very famous in Asia today.

The great thing about Uncle Tetsu’s cheesecakes is that they make sure every cake is freshly made for the customers. We even got to see how they make their famous cheesecakes up close. Lookie-Look!
First, after steam-baking the cakes for 40 minutes, the batch is brought out of the oven to cool down.
It was so cute seeing the cakes in pot-looking pans!!! heehee
Next step, everyone’s favorite part:
the cheesecakes are “stamped” with Uncle Tetsu’s uber cute logo!
Just looking at this warm, fluffy cheesecake makes my mouth drool! Yum yum yum!

Then, they store these delicious, warm cakes in the famous Uncle Tetsu boxes.
Everything in their packaging (from the box down to the wrapper and the paper bag) is imported from Singapore. πŸ™‚
WOAH! Look at that line! It’s no doubt that this newly opened store will definitely be a big hit here in the Philippines as well. If you google Uncle Tetsu in other countries, it’s a BIG BIG BIG craze today!
With one of the owners of Uncle Tetsu Philippines, Mr. Carl Co!

With my sister, Hiyasmin Neri, and Carl Co πŸ™‚
Thank you for our week-long supply of yummy cake (lol), Uncle Tetsu Philippines!!!
Everyone in the house loved your cheesecakes! My parents, who are both health-conscious doctors, are a fan of your cakes because Uncle Tetsu Cheesecakes are definitely healthier options for desserts πŸ™‚
Each cake just costs 299 pesos!
What we love most about Uncle Tetsu cheesecakes is that they’re very light and fluffy, and unlike New York cheesecakes, they’re not that sweet. Their mild taste is just perfect. The best part? They melt in your mouth!!!
Originally, they’re created to be eaten while they’re hot and fresh out of the oven, but I prefer refrigerating them first, because I’m a fan of cold cakes hihi. My mom, however, prefers heating them first πŸ™‚
Like their Facebook page for more details
And make sure to visit their branch to get your own hot (or cold, whichever way you like em hehe) Asian Cheese Cake!!!!!! <3
I’m definitely going back because I’m craving for one now!!
