Goodie Two Shoes

Last week, during class, my professor asked for a volunteer who could go to the photocopying place to have the handouts reproduced.
Being the super bored-girl-with-ADHD that I really am, I thought that it was just  the perfect opportunity for me to go out of the classroom and get some ….. break .
So I smiled ,  proudly stood up and said,
“Ma’am! Ako nalang po!”
(Mala Hunger Games pa nga ang peg ko nun, FYI)

But uhm, yup. To cut the long story short, my professor , in return, ended up giving me a five-minute lecture about how she didn’t like how I wore shorts to her class. AAAANNDD JUST SO YOU KNOW, GUYS, my classmates, who were wearing shorts that time too, all swiftly grabbed their bags and used them to cover their legs. AHAHAHAHA. TALK ABOUT “TAKSIL”. Pa-innocente effect talaga kayo forever, UGH. Jk. Haaay, life nga naman oh. =))

Anyway, we met again in class today. But this time, I wore a dress, because, you know, I didn’t want to get “embarrassed” in front of the my blockmates again.

Big hugs and kisses to my baby Priscilla for taking my outfit shots in school!! πŸ™‚

And thanks to Marc for taking a photo of the back details of my dress! πŸ™‚

The Little Black Dress

Last Sunday, my friend Hella asked (actually, more of commanded) me to accompany her to a friend’s debut.
Her words sort of went like this:
“Punta ka na. Eto na yung pambayad mo sakin dahil kinulot ko buhok mo last Friday.”

So in short, “he-nella ako ni Hella”. Haha get it?
Yup. The beauty of friendship, guys. HAHAHAHA.
Anyway, thanks for letting Hella tag me along to your debut, Sophia! It was a super fun night! Happy, happy 18th birthday to you!! :)And thanks to the super pretty and friendly girls who made me feel really welcomed that night! It was nice laughing , pigging out and partying with y’all! Hope to see you guys again real soon!
Since the motif of the party was black and red, we were asked to wear cocktail dresses in the same color, too.
I was invited/ informed just the night before the party itself, but good thing I had with me my trusty ole little black dress. I swear, this little darling right here never fails me to save me during “emergency situations” such as this!

Croissant, Tortillas at Sola

Top: HighFive Brands
Dress: Forever 21
Nude shoes: Charles & Keith

If you’re wondering what’s up with the title, well, it’s because I promised my best friend Ji that I would accompany her to Mini Stop to buy some snacks IF AND ONLY IF she could think of something interesting to name this blog post. She couldn’t think of anything but food, so uhm maybe that explains everything. Haha. (Darn, we are so ~soupy~ right now)

I’m sorry I haven’t been updating my blog for a week now. Been really caught up in school. Second some has just started , and I promised myself that I’d exert trice as much effort as I did before.

Anyhoo, I’m just really glad about the fact that Christmas is just around the corner. I saw these pretty poinsettia flowers around Serendra last Sunday and I couldn’t help but ask my uncle to take my outfit shot there! The color red gives the right contrast to my nude-colored outfit, don’t you agree? πŸ™‚

Not your ordinary ending. // UP Manila Freshman Inter-Block Debate Grand Finals

Remember the debate competition I told you guys about here
We were able to make it to the grand finals. The big twist? Our opponent was Block 11 (yet again) , who we already got to debate with during the QUARTER FINALS before. To cut the long story short, it turned out that the other teams backed out , and the FIBD team picked a wild card.
To be honest, we really didn’t get to prepare much for this debate (because we were too entrapped in school activities). But thank God for Kuya Dex, an upperclass student in the College of Nursing, who gave us a very short but substantial and fun training 2 hours before the contest itself.
The debate competition went on from 4- 7pm at the NTTC-HP Auditorium. Here, let me share you a photoblog of the unexpected things that happened that day.
This is a photo of me and my team mates; blue was our team color.
(L-R: Me , Magan, Alexia and Arvin)
We felt the tension the moment we stepped right into the room. We saw that the other team had A LOT of supporters, while we had……..well, none.
[left side: Team Nursing, right side: Team BioChemistry]
But then we got really surprised when  Flo and Ji (our batchmates from block 27 nursing) and Ate Jenn (block 26 nursing’s Freshman Block Coordinator from BS Intarmed) showed up to support us.
Thank you so so much for sacrificing your time just for us!
** Ji and Flo, even though you guys aren’t our blockmates, super thanks for coming and cheering for us! Go College of Nursing! Haha! Sobrang mas na-feel ko tuloy na ang tight ng bond natin as a batch. πŸ™‚
Mommy Jenn, thanks for coming even though you had an exam scheduled the next day! You’re the best!

**Thanks also to the upper class student nurses who also came to support us! I love college of nursing!
Flo, Ji and Mama Jenn!
Every time our group meets up to talk about the debate, we end by a prayer.
For some supernatural reason, it eases us away from stress, tension , fear and whatnots.
Flo found it very beautiful to see how at peace we seemed to be while the hullabaloo of setting up the stage was on going, and so she decided to take a shot of the scene.

“Lord, you brought us here. That is why we are certain that you are going to bring us through this. Just let Your will–your good and pleasing will– be done. Whatever the outcome may be, we pray that you would help us humbly accept it. We lay everything down at Your feet; Jesus, You call the shots..”

Indeed, after we said our prayers, we gained peace and confidence.
Not because we thought we were going to win this, but because we knew that God will help bring us through this.
Minutes before the debate started, we were given balloons.

This photo clearly shows how Magan and I cannot stop ourselves from inapropriately acting immature during serious  moments like this. =))
*To the tune of Oppa Gangnam Style”
Opp-opp-opp-op-op! OPPOSITION SIDE!!
Haha loser cheer, but whatevaaa~
Go Arvin! You are the BOMB!
Arvin while getting all mad and stuff….. and me getting all “wait, chill guys chill”
People told me that they thought I was going to faint or something. =)) Sigh, when will I ever learn to fight cool. =))
After the debate ended, my groupmates and I went outside to thank Him. True enough, He helped us survive this. Then we went back in to shake hands with and talk to the opposing team. They were nice girls. πŸ™‚
Fast forward towards the end of the event:
We didn’t win. Yes, we felt sad at first, but we believed that this was all in God’s Will.
We were each given posters, a certificate and a silver medal.
To our surprise, a group of men came inside the room carrying a big–no, GIGANTIC– box of pizza.
We thought that it was going to be served to everybody inside the room. But nope. It was coming towards us. And then the next thing we knew, they were laying the box at our feet =)))
We were like “What’s this?”
It was a freakin’ consolation prize!
My group mates and I were all like : ~(o.o)~ whaaaatt?! omgomgomg *puke rainbows* THANK YOUUUU!!!
Congratulations, Block 11 BIOCHEM!! πŸ™‚
Girl power! haha!

Somebody, stop me from devouring this!!!
Thank you, FIBD and APO Fraternity!!!

After sharing some slices of the gigantic pizza with some members of APO, we decided to bring it over to the UP Manila Annex (aka Robinson’s Manila wahaha).
FYI, bringing it there was more difficult than we thought it would be. Wahaha!

While we were crossing the street, the people inside the cars were like “whaaaat?”

The pizza was too big to enter the bomb detecting thing.

The guards allowed us to pass through the exit door instead. Ahaha!

After the tiring journey of bringing the pizza to the mall, our next conquest was: “where the hell do we eat this bad boy up?”

We decided to eat it at Krispy Kreme, because it was Ji and Flo’s second home/tambayan place anyway. The staff knew both of them, so they allowed us to bring over our kababuyan-ness there. Ahaha. We bought drinks from them, too!
Oh, and Arvin, thank you so much for surprising us with sundaes!!
Arvin: I have to go somewhere lang. I’ll be back in 15 minutes.
Us: Okay
~after 10 minutes~
Us: Nasan na kaya si Arvin? Baka iniwan na tayo. Masyado daw tayong nakakahiya. =))))
~after 20 minutes~
*Arvin comes in with a Mcdonald’s plastic bag in his hand*
Arvin:  I love you, guys!
We laughed, ate , laughed again, and bonded the whole night. Kung maka-victory party kami, wagas talaga eh=))
It was definitely one of the most unforgettable moments that I will ever have in my college life πŸ™‚ Thank God for moments like that one πŸ™‚

So in the end, we didn’t get the 3000-peso cash prize and the trophy;
But I believe that God did give us something much better:  the gifts of love and of friendship—- and a big ass pizza.

Wear Your School Colors! // Chalk Magazine

Last October 19, my sister gave me invites to the launch of Chalk Magazine’s October issue, “We Got Game”.
At the end of the invitation, it said “wear your school colors.”
“uh-oh”, I thought to myself. At that second, I knew I was going to find it hard to look for maroon-colored clothes.
I spent almost a week searching for stuff not only in my wardrobe, but in my friends’ as well.
Nada. Nothing. Zero.
I remember me chatting with my friend Ji on Facebook
Hershey: Ji!! May damit ka ba na maroon?
Ji: Wala. Bakit?:)
Hershey: Kailangan ko kasi eh πŸ™
Ji: Ay Sh*t akala ko nagpipick-up line ka ahahahaha!!
Then she said “wala eh, sorry!”
So you guys wanna know what I did next?
*UP students, please dont disown me ahuhuhuhu*
I looked for a nice top and a nice pair of shorts.. and when worn together, they coincidentally formed Ateneo’s school colors: blue and white. =))
Chesca and Micah (my blockmates who were with me as I prepared for the event): Ano yan? Pag may nagtanong sayo kung saan ka nagaaral, magkukunwari kang Atenista? Mapag-panggap! Desperada masyado? Porket wala kang damit na maroon? =))))
OMG. =))
So to cut the long story short, while I was really contented and happy with the outfit I already came up with, Chesca insisted on making me change into another outfit because she said “Hindi siya pangparty tingnan. Parang mag ma-mall ka lang.” Constructive criticism at its best, guys. =))))
So she helped me strip everything off my closet , and we were able to find a cover-up whose  shade was almost close to that of maroon (pay attention to the word almost ahahaha).
I paired it with the color white because
it just matched, that’s why
it uhm………………
symbolizes FREEDOM- and UP’s all about freedom, right? (para-paraan lang, ahaha)
Rone accompanied me to the event that night. It was held at Aracama, The Fort Strip .
Cover-up: Bado (a Korean Store)
Top: Charlie’s
Shorts: HighFive Brands

So sorry for the low quality of the pictures! We just used my trusty ole iPhone in taking my outfit shots.

We left the event early because we had to catch up at Mom’s birthday dinner that same night. πŸ™‚

Anyway, thank you, Chalk Magazine! And congratulations on your issue! πŸ™‚

Happy birthday to the only person who I think is crazier than me!

We’ve known each other for only five months, but it really feels as if I’ve known you since forever.
Yep, now THAT was just both cheesy and cliche, but nonetheless very much true.
Anyway, since it’s your birthday, I felt like making a blog dedicated just for you.
So I first went on searching for our very first photo together, and then BAM.
This is what showed up, apparently.
Go figure. 😐 Haha.
The second photo was this.
Remember the story behind this photo?
I was at the hallway, eating a waffle dipped in chocolate (that explains the stain on my teeth,as seen in the photo, haha). You just got out of class then
We saw each other and hugged.
And then you were like, “may dumi ka ata sa ngipin mo.”
and I was like “weh? tingnan ko nga!”
While I was looking at my teeth through my phone’s front camera, you placed your face beside mine.
And then we were like, “picture tayo!!!”

This is our third ever photo together, and probably the first matino shot, too!

Fourth photo together (if this counts). Ahahaha. This is a photo of me with Flo, but spot yourself at the back. =))

We weren’t really that close then- that probably explains why we had only a few photos (NA HINDI  PA MATITINO LAHAT hahaha). I never even imagined that we were going to be close friends!
But then I moved into a condo. And then “Neighbor Buddies” assembled (ahaha Justice League ang peg). And then the rest , as they say , is history.
Soon enough, we started taking lots of photos together- photos that I could , one day, look back at and even share to my future children (yuck ang drama, but bear with me, F na F ko na eh).
I could just imagine myself pointing to your face and saying,
Now, kids. That crazy-malandi-smart ass-chinita-abnormal chick right there is your Ninang Ji.”
And then they’d probably gasp and say that you haven’t changed one bit. But then they’d ask me why you wore a pair of glasses na walang lens. And then I’d go and start talking to them about the things our generation does for the sake of fashion.
And then I could tell them more stuff about you. Something like:
“She eats a lot. And when I say a lot, I really  mean a lot. But the weird thing is that she doesn’t get fat at all- and I find that very, very unfair.
(a photo of Ji eating in class, with chocolate all over her mouth)

She likes to sleep- and she could sleep just anywhere.

(Yup. That’s a carpet. )
But despite the fact that she could fall asleep anywhere, rest assured that she has within her a very sunny disposition.
She gives off good vibes to everyone she comes across with.

We are common in so many ways. It’s as if she’s my long lost sister!
Our friends even joke around saying that we two, being the most childish in the group, shouldn’t be left alone together…or else….
D  I  S  A  S  T  E  R happens.

*Facebook chat*
Hershey: Ji! Meron ka bang kulay maroon na damit?
Ji: Wala. Bakit? πŸ™‚
Hershey: Kailangan ko kasi eh. πŸ™
Ji: Ay shet akala ko nagpipick up line ka ahahahahaaha =))))))))

Whenever she’s around me, I can’t help but loosen up and feel comfortable.
I could be my true self, completely.
I could even look like a  total mess for goodness sake, and she would still love me!

She does the craziest antics. Sometimes, it even tempts us to disown her and say “I DONT KNOW HER!!” whenever she does odd stuff in public.
From mimicking other people….
….attempting to start a text conversation with McDelivery—and failing at it…
….going outside wearing a plastic bag on the head and saying it’s “the new in”
….. to heading out at night looking like THIS and giving strangers a heart attack

She’s obviously the life of the party!

And to top it all of, I could end my story-telling by saying this:
She’s beautiful—everything about her is.
The way she sings; the way she smiles; the way she spreads joy to others; and the way she’s so brave and so strong.
She once had her heart broken, but instead of letting that experience crush her, she allowed it to mold her into
someone ten times better, wiser, prettier.
And that’s what I love about her.

(c) Hella

Hay nako Ji. You’d probably be my children’s  favorite playmate…ay este…ninang (ahahaha).
I could tell them hundreds more stories about you.
I could tell them about how you cook instant noodles for me whenever I’m starving;
 how we argue when I tell you that you look pretty even without any cosmetics on, while you say you don’t;
how we bully you and how YOU TRY to bully me back;
 how you were there for me when I needed you the most;
how you helped me cope up with stress and depression;
But I guess that would take me more than one day to finish, won’t it?
But enough of the drama and looking at the future and stuff. =)) Ahahaha.
All I can say is that I sooo can’t wait to go on MORE adventures with you, Ji.
Here’s to more laughter and sabaw moments to come! I swear, everytime I’m with you, feeling ko magkaka-abs na ako sa kakatawa. =))
I love you for who you are—don’t change one bit.
With a bond like this, I am pretty sure that we’d stay this close forever.
A happiest birthday to you, babe. πŸ™‚
Thank you for making my college life all sorts of CRAZY!!!
