Last Saturday, I was invited by an online magazine to go on a shoot with them at Cubao Expo. After the tiring (but super fun! ) gig was done, I decided to take a short stroll around the place. Yep. Tourist lang ang peg. Haha!
Cubao Expo is a really great hideout for artists, collectors, fashion junkies and the like. They have the most unique, the weirdest, and the most artistic shops! It’s so sad that I didn’t get to take more photos of the shops around. There were actually plenty other cool stores like antique shops, novelty shops, bars, book stores, and ukay-ukays. Don’t worry! When I visit the place again, I’ll make sure to share with you all the quirkiest stores around!
Here are some stores that I was able to take photos of:
KARMA: This cool shop offers neat clothes and accessories! I love the weird feel of this shop.
The owner of the shop is so cute! Haha! I immediately thought of Alice in Wonderland when I first saw her, I don’t even know why.
If you’re a sucker for cheap and sturdy leather shoes, this place is for you.
Society of painters in watercolor
The super duper beautiful Bellini’s ! I’ve eaten here twice already. They offer AUTHENTIC Italian food (it is run by an Italian family)- very pricey, but totally worth it. If you’re in for some Italian fine dining, I recommend you try this restaurant out.
HEIMA: It’s a super cute shop that sells adorable furniture, stationary stuff, bags, etc! We had the shoot at their super duper cute studio located at the second floor.
I must admit, Instagram has become my latest addiction. As in, I could honestly say that I’m one Instagram whore who pulls out her phone every time something interesting happens in life.
Hypothetical (not really) An actual situation that happened to me:
We order pizza in a restaurant. Family tries to devour the pizza immediately. I shout and say “WAIT! I’ve yet to INSTAGRAM it!” *pulls out phone and waves it while I sing ‘instagraaaaammmmm’ !!*
Haha, I swear. Instagram’s making me move slower in life (by asking everything to just pause for a while so that I could ..er, capture the momen) — but hey, I’m not complaining at all!
In fact, I have just decided to share some of my latest Instagram photos here on my blog.
Hope you enjoy looking through them!

– Micah invited us over to her flat to spend our 4-hour break there. We had so much fun that we actually planned to cut Math class. But Marc, our group’s very own Jiminy Cricket, had to be a good student and influence us not to. HAHA.

My parents, who just got home from Palawan, gave me the coolest pasalubong ever! They’re called purity pearls. I had the chance to open up a real cultured shell by myself! How dope!

While we were playing cards in the classroom, this impregnated cat just suddenly appeared out of nowhere. We were like “okaaaaaay. We’re trying to play over here, so please move.” but the cat was like “forget youuuu”. HAHAHAHA.

Happy Bundle for a bunch of happy people! Yippee!
Fun fact: We placed our delivery orders online. Of course, I had to let my gago mode out, so inside the “other comments/remarks” box, I wrote there, “PLEASE INCLUDE 20 SATCHETS OF KETCHUP.” True enough, they sent us 20 satchets. LOL.
My dog is such a brat!

6:30 am. We rushed Yuki to the hospital. I’ll blog about that later on. It’s a pretty long story. We just need prayers. That’s all. Please pray for her.
This photo just breaks my heart. Sigh. Good thing she’s all better now, don’t worry. Let’s just pray for her to fully recover so that she could have her surgery already.
After our 4-hour stay inside Pendragon 24-hour Animal Clinic (that is how much we love our dog Yuki), we drove through Mcdonald’s to get some breakky.
This is me on my way to a shoot—-which I will blog about later on. Heehee, how exciting! Can’t wait to spill the beans!
This marked the day I had my very first alcoholic drink ( because I think that my occasional wine toasting just doesnt count). Yep. And it was during my sister Ate Hannah’s party—- inside the house. Yep, my first drink happened inside my own house. I am a complete bad ass. 😐
Oh, and I had some punch too. I thought it was fruit bunch. But it wasn’t.
Little did I know that it had bacardi and other drinks in there. I was like
“……….THIS ISN’T FRUIT PUNCH, PEOPLE.”
Oh, and I caught Ate Yas drinking alcohol. My sister is so hardcore. m/ LOL
Ate Hannah’s pretty birthday cupcakes!

I went to Greenhills to buy an iPhone casing!
It’s a Kate Spade case and it says “Under Stated is Over Rated”.
So I’m real sorry for the super long photo blog. Hope you had fun looking at them tho!
YEP. I think I just proved how much of an Instagram whore I really am. LOL
Hey guys. So these are two photos taken during the last peg of our shoot last week. Sleepy ang peg. LOL.
Fun fact: Our inside joke for this peg has something to do with my lack of more than 24 hours of sleep.
Yep, you heard me right.
Here’s a little story to entertain you all:
I actually studied from 10pm til 5am—NONSTOP—- for my long test.
Blame my 4 cups of coffee, sorry.
FRIDAY EARLY MORNING:
I was really tired and zombified. As in, I was the complete definition of BANGAG. HAHAH.
My four cups of coffee eventually took its toll on me. I was so hyper, you’d probably think I had ADHD (but I swear, I really think I do haha).
My college friends were concerned about me. They had to force me to nap for 15 minutes at Micah’s flat. Haha, and so I did.
FRIDAY AFTERNOON: WHAT A BUMMER. The hyper effect suddenly vanished just in time for my long test. Before the actual exam, I went to the store to buy more coffee— but they ran out of it. So I just bought sago’t gulaman instead, thinking that it will give me enough “sugar rush” to survive the rest of the day. BUT guess what? I fell asleep for about 5 minutes on the test itself. LOL. NEVER AGAIN.
This picture was taken after classes were dismissed. Haha!
After classes, I went to a reunion with my highschool friends. They were like “Why do you look………… stressed?” and then I went all ranting about how all my efforts in studying for the exam were in vain………………………………………………………………. ugh ugh ugh ugh i hate this feeling ugh ugh guhasdfszdgdfd
That same night, as soon as I got home, I had to prepare for a lot of stuff as well……
So to make the long story short, I DIDN’T GET SLEEP FOR THE PHOTO SHOOT AT ALL.
My “good-morning-hahahahhahaha-what-is-sleep???” face
Yep. Say hello to me and my bangag-ness. HAHA.
After the shoot and all, we had to go to a relative’s debut in Pampanga.
So yeah…………………………….. I had to stay up late at night pa. LOL.
These are some of the photos from my shoot yesterday with my close friends (or should I say “photographer friends”) , Junessa Rendon and Kat Rosario.
This was a learning experience to all of us, actually, because it was our first time to do a shoot in a studio!! I’m actually glad that we were able to share that moment together, because we were able experiment and discover things on our own— without feeling uncomfortable.
Anyway, I’m also glad that I was able to check this off my list. I’ve always wanted to do a natural/simple kind of shoot! I hope we were able to pull it off!
What do you think of the photos?
To be honest, I actually like them, because they bring out the true morena in me.
Yup, I’m a morena, and I’m proud. 🙂

After this, we also tried doing other pegs too. Watch out for my next posts to see them!! <3
The past few weeks have been tough for us Filipinos. Of course, there was the “Habagat” ( the Filipino term for south west monsoon)” that brought about meters-and-meters-deep floods, which also eventually led to landslides, destruction of homes and possessions, and worst, the loss of plenty of lives. It was an Ondoy Part 2, a Noah-and-the-ark kind of scenario. But this time, unlike before, it was different, because the people’s attitude was different. It was as if the “bayanihan” spirit (Filipino term for “the spirit of unity”) was evidently inside of everyone’s hearts.
Instead of moping and whimpering about the disasters that were happening, they actually STOOD UP and DID SOMETHING. Through their own little ways, they actually made a change. Some helped spread calls for rescue and hotline numbers; some opened their houses to the homeless; some actually waded through the waters to help rescue lives; and of course, some G A V E. ———————————————————————————————————— There were sooo many different relief operations that were started by different organizations, universities, colleges, schools, foundations, etc.
One of those was “TSMS RELIEF DISTRIBUTION”.
Poster made by Renzo Urquico
It was started by the students and alumni of The Seed Montessori School- but that didn’t mean that the relief op was restricted only to the “Seedlings”! In fact, people from different schools and companies gave their donations and support to this cause – and for me, that was a very inspiring sight. It made me realize that people, despite all their differences, could actually come together and work as one.
August 9, 2012 ***Special thanks to Moonleaf DON ANTONIO and School Stop DON ANTONIO for opening their doors to us! Thank you so much! More power to you!!****
The donations box first went looking like this…
but with the help of cheerful givers…
August 10, 2012
It eventually ended up looking like THIS.
“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, FOR GOD LOVES A CHEERFUL GIVER (2 corinthians 9:7)”
Seed students and alumni hanging out at Moonleaf Don Antonio to wait for more donations.
Thank you, Moonleaf Don Antonio! 🙂
Thank you for this, School Stop Don Antonio!
Every little help counted.
Boys from batch 2013, Batch 2012 and Batch 2011 helped each other carry truck loads of relief goods into the van.
After eating dinner, we headed to the Seed Montessori School at around 8pm to sort and count the donated goods.
Say hi to senior Seed student Eunice!! 🙂
That’s Topel demonstrating to us how to count the Sky Flakes crackers inside the pack……
Topel: Ganito kasi yan…. *bla bla bla*
Us: Wait, ano daw? =))
Belly having fun with the clothes!
T E A M W O R K !! 🙂
Me and Madellaine 🙂
Serious mode: on ………………
…..Well, not really. We didn’t help but have a good time, especially since Topel, the joker, was around. HAHA.
This is Topel and me doing our “WOW!!!! ULAAAAMMM!” faces. =))
We left the school at around 10:30 pm so that we could have enough rest for tomorrow’s big day!
August 11, 2012
The volunteers (alumni, students AND teachers) went to The Seed Montessori School at around 8am to start packing. It felt so great seeing the Seedlings as ONE that day. 🙂 It made me miss highschool even more. <3
Representatives from different batches were helping one another!
Abundance in donations!! whooopeee!
Our Vice Principal also stopped by to check on us. Thank you for the merienda, ma’am!! 🙂
Even our kuyas from Batch 2006 were there to help!! Amazing!
With some of the teachers, students and alumni peeps 🙂
Haha!! Too. many. bags !!
Machong Jeje ang peg. =))))
Batch 2012 with Sir Aldwin and Teacher Maryse! 🙂
Sir Aldwin started the idea of using me as a “plastic bag rack”. Soon enough, everyone else followed him, and I ended up looking like this….
HAHAHAHAHA! So that’s me, rocking “THE LOOK”. Haha! Victoria’s Angels *with matching wings and hat* ang peg. =)))
There were plenty of goods that were delivered that day, too! What a pleasant surprise for all of us! 🙂
TEAMWORK GOES A LONG, LONG WAY.
Boys being boys!
Laughter amid all the haggardness. 🙂
Helping out gives you such a wonderful feeling inside, don’t you agree?
Oo, sa lampa kong ito, nakabuhat parin ako ng gamit kahit papano.. =))
See that L300 over there?? It was JAM PACKED WITH RELIEF GOODS . Asi in, J A M P A C K E D!!!!
*** The L300 went straight to a church in Cubao right after. The relief goods will then be given to victims in Marikina , Cainta, etc. 🙂
You know what the amazing thing was?
We were originally expecting to just fill in 50 bags.
But with God’s grace and provision,
MORE THAN FOUR HUNDRED BAGS WERE FILLED AND READY TO BE GIVEN!
In fact, the results exceeded our expectations so much, that not all the bags were able to fit inside the L300!
We decided to donate the 20+ extra bags to Victory Christian Fellowship, because they were holding a relief operation as well.
Seedlings putting the extra bags in a van that was on its way to Victory QC branch! Thanks for lending us your van, Kim! 🙂
<3 I love these people!
————————————————————————————————- Siyempre, ang TSMS Relief ay isang maliit na parte lamang ng isang malaking litrato. Sa mga panahon tulad nito mo makikita ang tunay na kabayanihan ng bawat Pilipino. 🙂 PILIPINAS, bangon tayo. SAMA SAMA TAYO HANGGANG SA DULO. SIGE LANG, SIGE!
Lately, the weather’s been totally bipolar here in the Philippines. I hate how one day could start really sunny and bright, but then the next thing you know, BAM, rain starts to pour down like cats and dogs. ——– Typhoon Helen started to hit the Philippines yesterday. And since the university thinks that us college students are “waterproof”, I decided to gear up on durable stuff for the rain.
One of those was my newly bought waterproof overshoes from SOLED. They work like rainboots, actually- but they’re cuter. Haha. The best part about these lovelies is that you could actually wear your shoes inside, thus they’re also called “shoes for your shoes” !
Do you like them? I LOVE THEM. I really wanted the dark brown one though, but since they don’t have one in my size yet, I decided to get a purple pair instead. No worries, purple is actually my favorite color.
I MEAN, C’MON! ISN’T IT OBVIOUS?? Shirt: Zara Men , Jacket: Solo, Pants: Forever 21, Boots: SOLED Overshoes, Pochi purse: Bagellia Filipinas, umbrella: ESPIRT
*Special thanks to Florence and Chesca for taking my photos. Haha, lol. Love you guys!
I was completely overjoyed when I found out that I could actually step on puddles now without that eeky feeling of getting wet! Wahahaha. I was like “I AM FREAKING INVISIBLE, YOU DARN PUDDLES YOU”.
My friend Micah, who commented about how purple I was , asked me “Are you a Justin Bieber fan?”
and I was like “uhm…. no… not really.”
But then in my mind I was like, “But I was seriously a hardcore Barney fan back then.”
Haha!So how are you gearing up for the rainy season? 🙂
I’m lovin my hair’s natural ombre effect under the light 🙂
I had a wonderful Sunday with my family 🙂 We went to Serendra to have our brows threaded at Browhaus Read my review from way before HERE , and then to Victory Christian Fellowship to attend service. For dinner, we ate yummy Chinese food!
Hi, ladies! I apologize for not being able to blog for a week now. It’s just that, stress has gotten the best of me. But I’m trying my best to cope up, okay?:) I promise, I am so going to fix my sched so I can have enough time to write again.
Heehee. I must admit though, I found it really sweet when people started tweeting / sending me messages <asking whether I was still alive or not, lol, jk> . Anyhoo, I just got home from packing relief goods for the flood victims. I am going to blog about the relief distribution project real soon, but for now, let me introduce to y’all my NEWEST SPONSOR, ARTEH!
Arteh is an online shop owned by UP student Marie Altiche. What I love about this shop is that they sell handmade accessories for VERY AFFORDABLE PRICES! As in, the stuff they sell are waaaaay cheaper compared to other stores, but they’re just as pretty. 🙂
I was really touched when they emailed me for sponsorship 🙂 Oh gosh, it such a huge honor to be sharing this lovely shop to you girls!! I
Here, let me share you the items that Arteh sent me. Do you have any bets?
I love this neon braided necklace! <3 Definitely my favorite out of the bunch!
Crochet earrings are soooo in. <3
More florescent colors <3
BAM! Check out how intense the colors are! I loooove neons, I swear.
Trying out the necklace for the first time. Haha forgive me for my sabog-ness.
