Country Girl Sweetheart

I decided to add character to my boring old polo today.

So I tied up the bottom front part  into a knot, and rolled the sleeves up. Next, I accessorized by piling up bracelets and necklaces. And to add the finishing touches, I braided my hair and wore my new heart-shaped sunnies!

Tadaa! I was able to(sort off) accomplish the “Country Girl” look! Hope I pulled it off  though. πŸ™‚
What do you guys think?
Polo: hand-me-down from my sister, / pants: Forever 21
Bag: Bagellia Filipinas / Shoes: Parisian / over used necklaces: Acccessoire and Forever 21/ sunnies: Ebay
This is my favorite belt. It can pair up with almost anything.
I got it for only 250 bucks in Crossings πŸ™‚
Oh, and my pants are from Forever 21. I bought this pair for only 555 bucks. What a steal! INVEST IN BASICS, GUYS!
Don’t you just love my sunnies? I got it last night as a “pasalubong” (gift) from my sister who works at the States! She said she got it from Ebay. πŸ™‚ Cool.
Bracelets (L-R): from a random stall in Rockwell, from a bazaar in Nuvali, and from Quirkypedia

My flats are such an investment! Can you believe I got it only for 499 bucks? Parisian offers lots of cute flats! And the best part is, it’s a Filipino brand! Support Pinoy! πŸ™‚

Styling the Gaga Girls for the Rexona Confidence Project

I accompanied my sister to a styling gig last May 21.
The plan? To style two girls ala Lady Gaga to, of course, Lady Gaga’s concert!
It was for a viral teaser video to promote the launch of Rexona’s new campaign, “The Confidence Project”.
The concept of the whole video was all about two young girls who dared to stand out from the crowd and  followed the road where confidence led them.
And you know what? That’s exactly what Rexona is looking for- fun, fresh, fierce and CONFIDENT young ladies who have what it takes to be the next “WHY NOT? Girls” !

My First Week in College

Hi guys! I’m really sorry I wasn’t able to blog lately!

Uhm, It’s just that whenever I get home from school, I just find myself  longing for a bath and then for sleep (lol, what a lazy ass).

So, forgive me.
Here, to make it up to you, I’m going to make a post about what happened in my first week in college πŸ™‚
If y’all didn’t know yet, I’m currently studying at the University of the Philippines MANILA, The Health and Sciences Center, where I am taking up BS Nursing. πŸ™‚
——————

Enrollment Day: May 8, 2012
Fun fact: this was actually the dress I wore when I took the UPCAT…. aaaand, today last year was actually my first day in the LSC Summer Review Classes for college examinations. Cool, huh?

June 11, 2012

UP Manila’s Welcoming Ceremony for Freshies
It was held at the UP Diliman Film Institute, from 8 am til 12.
My outfit for the day! Folded and Hung Top, Forever 21 jeans, Forever 21 boots,
and Impulse Co satchel

For me, this was the highlight of the ceremony.
You see, when the introduction of the University Student Council ended, a girl suddenly started shouting out loud, hysterically. And while she was being stopped by the guards, the doors of the theater suddenly opened wide, and in came a group of protestors with banners. They were shouting while running towards the stage.

I honestly didn’t realize that everything was just part of the program, not until the Student Council helped the protestors carry the banner. It was all a surprise to us. Everything just went by so fast, that the only thing I recal was that everyone was FREAKING STUNNED. As in,our hearts were literally beating nervously fast. HAHAHA.

I learned a lot from this segment. I found out about how President Aquino’s “Budget Cut for Education” affected us students  πŸ™ I really hope that this issue would be solved by the government already.

After the rallying segment, the emcee, an old lady, then proudly blurted out: OKAY GUYS, WELCOME TO UP.
Everyone laughed out loud.
HAHAHAHAHAHA. Epic.

After the ceremony, some of my blockmates and I went out for a small picnic at the lagoon.
Rodic’s tapsilog for the win!
Chesca, me and Irish

UP College of Nursing’s Orientation (with parents)

I didn’t really get to take lots of photos of the events that happened that day.
We were just oriented of the rules and regulations of the college <and other important stuff that I wasn’t really paying much attention to, because I *think* I have ADHD,lol>

After the orientation, us students were toured around our college building, while our parents stayed at the auditorium, to talk to the profs and dean.

After we were toured around, we got the chance to sign on this tarpaulin for Celica Javier, our batchmate who passed away earlier that morning due to hemorrhage.
I really feel sad that Celica passed away a day before college started. She would have been a great friend of mine. Celica, may you rest in peace. I may not know a lot about you, but what I do know is that you’re such a brave and strong girl. God bless you and your family. You serve as an inspiration to all of us. You will always be part of the UPCN family.

June 14, 2012

The very first day of college.
I was more excited than nervous, really. I honestly couldn’t wait to meet new friends and to experience new culture. To be honest, I have always been a sheltered child, so I must admit that UP Manila was a bit scary to me at first. These are some of the reasons why: it’s far from my house, the pollution’s up to “the extreme”, and the people’s culture there is very new to me.

But I think that God put me in this place so that I could experience “THE REAL WORLD”, if you know what I mean, especially since I want to engage myself in the world of Health Sciences; I believe that this experience would cultivate and prepare me to be a matured, skilled and holistic professional.
Plus, UP Manila is known to be the Health and Sciences center, perfect for the type of profession I want, so I am confident that my stay here would all be worthwhile.

Honestly, I also got to feel a little sentimental that morning because I remembered myself crying right after I took the UPCAT, about ten months ago. Everything just seemed so surreal, I had to pinch myself to remind me that I was not dreaming at all. This is one of the greatest blessing I received from Him – being able to go to a nice university that will prepare me for the real world. Lord, I wouldn’t be getting here if it weren’t for You. I just want to thank You for your goodness and faithfulness.

Me in front of the UP College of Nursing! View my OUTFIT POST HERE.

After our first subject, my friends and I went to Robinson’s Ermita (aka “The UP MANILA TAMBAYAN), where we spent our 4-hour break.
We had to wait for the mall to open for abour 30 minutes
We felt like “tambay peeps”, just sitting on the steps of the stairs in front.
Thus, we decided to call our group the “Kanto KidZzZz” . Oh, It’s sort of an inside joke. HAHA.

We ate lunch at Greenwich.

Chesca, Marc and Faisal

It was the first “break” we had for college, so we really didn’t know what to expect.
We kept on walking and walking around the mall for hours, not knowing what the hell to do during 4-hour breaks.
Then suddenly, out of desperation to sit down and rest, I blurted out that I was craving for coffee at Krispy Kreme.

*at the counter*
Chesca: What’s your STRONGEST coffee?
Cashier: Americano po.
Chesca: Okay, I’ll get that.
Cashier: And for you, ma’am?
Me: Ano yung pinaka….. hindi strongest? (wow, way to go, Hershey…lol)
Cashier: Mocha po.
Me: Sige, one mocha.
Cashier: Okay ma’am. What’s your name nga pala po?
Me: uhm, Hershey.
Cashier: okay *writes ” Hershey”*
Me: wait, pwede ko bang ibahin?
Cashier: uhh.. sige po?
Me: Pwede bang Anne Curtis nalang?
Chesca: HAHAHAHAHAHA
Cashier: o..si..ge po.
Me: tas yung name niya (Chesca), Georgina Wilson nalang.
Chesca: WAAHAHAHAHAHA.

Irish and Marc played along. Written on Irish’s cup was “Solenn”, and on Marc’s, “Raymond”.
=)))

YUCK WE ARE FOREVER JEJE PEOPLE. Hahahahaha. At parang nahiya pa yung staff  na isabi sa mic yung “names” namin, kaya personally nila kaming dinalhan ng kape =)) Hindi na samin nauso yung “Pick your drinks at the counter”. =))

Me: Kuya, pwede po bang mag pa picture ?
Staff 1: Okay, ma’am. Ready.. 1…2…3 —-
Staff 2: — WAIT! WAIT!
Staff 1: Oh bakit?!
Staff 2: Kailangan naka-hat sila!!
Us: Ayun naman pala, ate! Hahaha.

Yay for free hats! and for yummy iced coffee!

We walked around the mall still wearing our hats, just because we were too happy and giddy (and plus, coffee made us all 10x hyper).

Hyperness really hit us while we were waiting for our Comm1 prof to arrive, LOL!

June 15, 2012

Heading to school!

After our PE classes, we went to the Nursing Library to study.

When the clock hit 10:30, we headed to the bazaar to have our early lunch.

After break time, we supported Chesca in her Mr. and Ms. Freshies 2012 audition.
I was < more of ” I still am”> so tempted to upload the video of her singing, but then I realized that I didn’t want to get murdered by Chesca just yet, so I decided not, to. (But Chesca, if youre reading this, I swear im gonna use that vid to blackmail you….HAHA IM KIDDING,OKAY? lollll =)) πŸ˜› )
Block representatives, Chesca and Joshua

Marc and our Block Coordinator, Mama Jenn!

Fooling around with my blockmates while waiting for our prof in Math 11 πŸ˜€

My goodness. I burnt a lot of calories that day.
Imagine this:I walked form  the Nursing Building to Taft to photo copy some papers. After that, I went to the OUR, and  then to CAS, and then to the OUR, and then to CAS and then to the OUR, and Then to CAS and then to the OUR, and then to CAS, and lastly, to the the Nursing building.
To make things short, I was freakin’ tired and hungry when the day ended.
But my tiredness vanished when I saw my high school classmates once again at a reunion that same night! It was really nice seeing them all dressed in different college uniforms, and hearing stories of how their first day of college went. We went to Moonleaf Don Antonio to hang out, ate at Tapsilog Avenue and then chilled at Alyssa’s place til the clock struck 11 πŸ™‚
I will forever love my 4-A family <3 Highschool never ends!! πŸ˜€

June 18, 2012

Being the tambay peeps that we all are. See, look at Chesca sleeping in the library. LOL.

Oh, and during Comm 1, the Alpha Omega Fraternity (if im not mistaken), went to our room to serenade us. They gave roses to some of the girls, too (and yes, I wasn’t given one….croo croo *right in the heart* HAHAHAHA, KIDDING) .

.
Fooling around while waiting for our prof in Philo 1 to arrive πŸ™‚
After school, I treated Marc some isaw πŸ˜€

When I was fetched, Dad brought me to Mcdo πŸ™‚ awww <3

June 19, 2012

A picture speaks a thousand words. LOL, say hi to Marc and Chesca. Di naman sobrang halatang gutom pa si Marc? :)) HAHAHAHA BEST CANDID SHOT…EVER.

Free cut kami nung Math 11, so we decided to watch a movie at Rob. Unforunately, the next showing was still at 2pm. πŸ™
So we decided to kill time at the public massage chairs , LOL. IN FAIRNESS, those chairs gave some darn good back massages. HAHAHA. Now this is how losers spend their 4-hour breaks. =))

I felt pretty “bad ass” that day, too, so I decided to sneak in a cup of Happy Lemon at the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf . HAHA WHUT.

Our last class was from 2:30 to 4:00. History was really fun! I got to learn a bunch of new stuff, like what the Philippine Flag REALLY symbolizes. Yep, that thing about blue means peace and red means courage are all lies. <///3 Don’t worry, I think I’m going to blog about it soon, for y’all to know, too (that is, if my lazy-ass -self won’t kick in. πŸ™‚

A perfect picture to show you all how we wait for our next class =)) LOL
College started off great! I’m starting to love UP Manila more and more πŸ™‚
I just want to thank the upperclass, the FBCs, the profs, and the rest of the UP Manila staff for being so welcoming to us freshies! I can’t wait to spend 4 years here πŸ™‚ It’s definitely more fun in UP Manila! πŸ™‚

A singer. A doctor. A best friend. A mentor. A buddy. A seafood-cooking expert.
An adventurer. A world traveller. A speaker. A leader. A joker. An entertainer.
A teacher. A lover.
And most of all,
a FATHER.
You have so many hats to put on, dad. But I must say that you do so well in being all of these.
And I just wanna show you how much I appreciate all your efforts in trying to be the best daddy in the world, just for us.
Daddy, thank you for always showing up in my contests (even if it means that you have to reschedule appointments and meetings).
You are such a bibbo stage dad, and that’s what I love about you. You never fail to make me and my sisters IMPORTANT, TALENTED, BEAUTIFUL AND LOVED. Thank you for supporting us in everything we do, in every decision we make, and in every adventure we want to take.
Thank you for always making sure that Sundays and holidays are to be fun. I will never forget that about you. Thank you for prioritizing family days. Thank you for driving us to the places, and of course, for ensuring that there would be quality time among the family.
Thank you for always listening to what we want to say.
Thank you for your prayers, advices, hugs and kisses, and for your time.
Thank you for providing for the family. Thank you for loving not only me, mommy, my sisters, Yaya and our doggies, but also to YOUR PATIENTS. You are a lover to all of us. We love you for your heart to give and your heart to help.
Thank you for making me feel proud whenever I call you “Daddy”.
When I grow up, I want to be just like you.
I promise to finish my studies, and to do well in everything I do.
You and Mommy are my inspiration. I promise to take care of you both, just like how you took care of me since I was born.
I love you, Daddy! I will always be your baby girl πŸ™‚

“Pants-Person”

I must admit that I immediately thought of my highschool friend, Dani Barretto of STYLE IS ETERNAL, when I wore this outfit.

Here is her post that I kind of drew my inspiration from: HAPPY COLORS . What a coincidence! Haha.
Do you see the resemblance? lol.
Dani, if you’re reading this, I just want you to know how much I love and miss you! πŸ™ huhu. Hang out soon, okay?
ANYWAAAY.
This is what I wore to my first day in college. To be honest, it was actually my first time, in a verrryyyy long time, to wear pants. I’m not really a “pants person”, because I think wearing one makes me look smaller.
But my perspective about how “pants-don’t-look-good-on-petites” changed when I wore this one.
I realized that it’s all about how the pair FITS you. I think this one fits my petite frame perfectly!
I love that Forever 21 offers so many cute pants for very affordable prices! I bought this blue pair for only 855 pesos. What a steal! xx
Top:  Dear Kate / necklace: ACCESSOIRE / pants: Forever 21/ shoes: Parisian/ bag: Bagellia Filipinas
Sorry for the low quality of photos. I just used my iPhone for this post, lol.

I am so excited for college!
Can’t wait to learn new things, explore new places, and accomplish new challenges!

Society is a bitch

I hate being compared to other people.
I hate not being good enough.

 Smart enough.

 Kind enough.

and most of all, pretty enough.

And no, don’t tell me things like “what matters is what’s on the inside, not on the outside.” , because that’s not how society thinks.
Society says that you’re only considered pretty when you’re tall, sexy, fair-skinned, and basically…. flawless.
And to tell you the truth, I’m not any of those.
And because of the kind of mindset that society introduced to us, I get teased, bullied and looked down upon.

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been brought down by a lot of people.
I’ve been called a horse.
Worse, a rat.
Some people even told me that I looked like a a guy trying to be a girl.

I’ve been teased because of my lips, prominent front teeth, dark skin and thick brows.

I’ve been asked why my sisters are both pretty, while I’m not.

All of those left a wound in my heart.

I try to not listen to them.
But honestly, it’s really hard not to care, especially if you’ve been battling with the same old shit for years now.

And because I keep hearing the same stuff all over again, I start to think that everything they say about me is true.

I hate everyone who brings me down.

They all just make me hate myself.

Stuff I’m bringing with me to college!

Yesterday, my mummy and I went to the mall to buy stuff for college. I swear it’s so far from the typical “school supply shopping” I once knew *cue MMK drama music, please*. </3

I could recall that before, we had to push a big cart full of school stuff around the bookstore. But now, we just used a small cart- and it wasn’t even that full.

Before, I used to buy 7 notebooks, pencil cases, and a clear folder complete with customized name stickers, intermediate pads, coloring materials, plastic covers, white folders, etc etc etc. The list goes on and on!

But now, all I had to buy are the following:  a clear case, yellow pad, index cards, post its, and a notebook with “refillable fillers” inside (did I just make sense there?).

This year’s supply shopping is less exciting, yes. But nonetheless, I could honestly say that I still feel as giddy as a little girl whenever I get to buy new stuff for school! Heheeee. *geeky mode: ON*

I wonder if I’m the only person encountering this kind of drama? Yeah, it’s just probably me. *croo croo*
———————-
Fun fact: People call me a walking National Bookstore.

I could swear I rank #1 in the list of people who tend to overpack.

Here, let me share you a photoblog of what I *intend* to bring with me tomorrow on my first day of college.

————

 * I bought the red bag from BAGELLIA FILIPINAS for only 1250 bucks! I think it’s the perfect college bag because 1) it’s B-I-G, 2) it’s fashionably and 3) it’s affordable!
* Like my cute flats? They’re actually super cheap finds! I bought them from PARISIAN at the SM DEPARTMENT STORE for only 499.75 bucks each. I also used my Belle De Jour coupons, so I got to avail of a 10% discount.
* The purple pochi purse is a smart buy for me! I could bring it anywhere I go to. It’s lightweight, water proof, and most of all, CUTE! ~Anything~ could fit inside (seriously). Right now, I use my Pochi Purse to hold my phone, money, and oil control film. lol.

* It’s more fun in UP Manila, the Health and Science Center!
And because I could ~feel the UP VIBES~ already, I bought a classic lanyard . It costs 125 pesos. I bought it at the  O. U. R place over at Padre Faura.
* Planners from PLANET SLATE and BELLE DE JOUR.
I use my Planet Slate for doodling and random writing, while I use my Belle De Jour for organizing, scheduling, and writing down important events. I think I I I intend to bring just one planner to school, because, well, it’s stupid to bring two. HAHAHA DUH,HERSHEY.
* Oh, and see that Esprit thing? You would have thought those were shades, huh? Well, EENKKKKK! You’re wrong! What’s inside that thing is actually an umbrella- a teeny, tiny, water-resilient umbrella.  And the best part? It’s color PURPLE!! ahhh! Heehee I can’t wait til it rains, so that I could use this while commuting (I think I spoke too soon, hehe. I have a feeling that im gonna regret saying that.)
Thanks for this birthday gift, Style !
I forgot the price of this notebook. I think it’s somewhere around 150 to 180 bucks. It’s a really cute purchase! I’m happy that I bought this. It holds 9 fillers, and its cover is just so fab!

I bought another notebook because…………. I like to keep things organized πŸ˜€ (naah, I just bought it because I’m ditsy *minus the stupid part*, and that I found the cover cute)
I think I’m just gonna use it to take down notes of homework, events, and other “important stuff”.
I bought this one for only 89.75 bucks.

Heehee. My geekiest purchase of the day: PADDED SOCKS.
lolz.
Yep, there’s a cushion inside each sock. lol. It’s like wearing pillows under your soles!!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH.
Oh, and because I’m a ~nursing student~ , I think it’s a given that I’m really OC when it comes to germs (my greatest enemy? Those door knobs in public restrooms that you have to hold onto and turn . EEW)
I got the Bath and Body Works hand sanitizer as a gift from my sponsor, POSH AND GLAM BOUTIQUE. They sell it for 150 bucks each.
Oh, and I have this favorite brand of facial cleanser. It’s called Clean and Clear deep action. I swear, once you’ve washed your face with this, you’ll actually hear your fingers SQUEAK against it. That means that it actually leaves your face squeaky clean. I love how it removes my makeup easily. I bought this one for only 80 pesos at Watson’s.
I love using oil films, too! But I try to minimize my use, because some say that it actually makes your face oilier if you use it too often? IDK. I bought this one for only 124 bucks. Pricey, but worth it.
Tomorrow’s the start of college!
Please pray for me! I’m kind of nervous, but at the same time, I’m really excited to venture into a new world!
Waah. Can’t wait.
I better pack now and do the “cancellation method”, because I think I wont be able to carry all of these around Manila. HAHAHA.
xoxo,
The Teenage Queen
